Vinkocide™ CMIF

Vinkocide™ CMIF is a broad-spectrum preservative developed by Vink Chemicals, combining CIT/MIT (5-Chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-Methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one) with (Ethylenedioxy)dimethanol (EDDM) – a formaldehyde releaser. This synergistic blend delivers robust preservation performance, offering the fast-acting antimicrobial effect of CIT/MIT along with long-term efficacy and headspace protection provided by EDDM.

  • Quick Action: CIT/MIT penetrates microbial cells and inactivates critical enzymes and substrates, effectively preventing microbial adaptation
  • Extended Protection: This enhanced version of Vinkocide™ CMI 1.5 includes EDDM, a formaldehyde releaser, which provides long-lasting preservation and headspace protection—limiting microbial growth even on surfaces exposed to air.
  • Low Usage Concentration: Effective preservation is achieved at low concentrations (0.05–0.20% w/w).
  • Wide pH Compatibility: Performs well within a pH range of 3–10. However, stability of CIT/MIT may be reduced at pH levels above 9 or in the presence of sulfur-containing compounds (e.g., mercaptans, dithionite).
