     1. Sources of ZnO in Vietnam

Currently, the Vietnamese market imports four major sources of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) from Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, and China. Each source has its own production method, resulting in significant differences in purity, impurity levels, particle size, and application range.

This diversity provides fertilizer manufacturers with more options but also creates challenges in selecting the right additives for each raw material source.

     2. Challenges in Producing High-Content ZnO SC

  • Dispersion and Viscosity Issues

At high ZnO concentrations, poor dispersion or uncontrolled viscosity can cause the product to thicken excessively. This not only affects product quality but also complicates storage and application.

  • The Challenge of High Specific Gravity

This is the most critical obstacle in producing ZnO suspension concentrates (SC). With a specific gravity of about 5.6 g/cm³, ZnO is one of the heaviest materials commonly used in concentrated suspension fertilizer formulations.

According to Stokes’ Law of sedimentation velocity, particles with higher density settle faster. With a density over five times that of water, ZnO particles tend to sink quickly unless supported by a robust additive system that can “lift” and maintain long-term suspension stability.

Therefore, selecting and combining the right additives is key to producing high-content ZnO SC products with lasting stability.

    3. Amigos’ Solution

Amigos proudly offers a comprehensive additive package for ZnO SC formulations, enabling flexible performance from 700 g/L – 900 g/L up to 1500 g/L, compatible with all four major raw material sources (Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, and China).
